President

Tim McCormick’s career spans four decades related to the construction industry. His work history includes duties as a carpenter, superintendent, general contractor, civil engineer and building official before starting his own consulting company in compliance services. His construction experience spans from the simplest of residential structures to the largest of current mixed-use, campus and institutional buildings. Along the way, he developed a strong practical approach to code compliance that creates innovative solutions to meet client needs and the intent of applicable regulations.

Tim has authored several portions of local building codes and regularly participates in the development of State of California building code amendments related to accessibility. His expert knowledge and code development work make him a much-sought expert for litigation, construction and training needs.

Tim is licensed in California as both a civil engineer and a general contractor. He holds certifications as a Building Official and Plans Examiner from the International Code Council and as a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) from the California Division of the State Architect (DSA). He is a designated subject matter expert for the CASp exam and serves on DSA’s Access Code Collaborate that advises on building code content for accessible buildings and facilities.

Tim’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cal Poly, Pomona, and an executive master’s degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University. His professional memberships include the International Code Council, California Building Officials, and the Certified Accessibility Specialist Institute.

Tim values transparent communication, innovative problem solving, and delivering services with integrity and excellence. He is passionate about consulting clients on building code and ADA compliance because he is given the opportunity to work with Clients that want to build things right. Tim believes collaborative work brings forth efficiency and next-level success and therefore chooses to implement projects in partnerships with Clients, design professionals and contractors.

Susan Yuzuki

Senior Civil Engineer

Susan’s career started with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. Later, she worked as a plan review engineer for several LA Basin cities. She has experience with zoning, building codes, grading and accessibility and has authored numerous Municipal Code ordinances related to building codes and permitting.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from UCLA. She is licensed as a Civil Engineer in California. She holds certifications as a Plans Examiner from the International Code Council and as a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) from the California Division of the State Architect (DSA).

Throughout her career, Susan has valued collaboration and problem solving to achieve the customer’s design objectives while meeting code standards. She strives to provide quality, helpful service with integrity. Susan especially cares about accessibility in the built environment based on her personal family experiences. She is excited to join a team with goals and practices that align closely with her own.

Stefanie Cheng

Associate Designer

Stefanie Cheng is the founder and Principal Designer at Steff Stuff Design. With 12+ years of interior design and architecture experience in the Los Angeles area, she started Steff Stuff Design as a boutique design studio to serve small business owners, locally and beyond.

Stefanie is an associate member of the AIA LA (American Institute of Architecture), and currently serves as a Director on the board of AWA+D (Association for Women in Architecture and Design), as well as the incoming CFO. She also volunteers for and does pro-bono work for many AAPI community organizations in the Los Angeles area - such as the annual APA Holiday Toy Drive.

Administrative Services Manager

Sarah Jung Earnhardt manages business operations by planning, directing, and coordinating activities to help McCormick & Associates expand and excel in the services we provide our clients. She coordinates and performs a diverse set of support tasks, managing both staff and property, to ensure McCormick & Associates and its facilities have the staff and resources needed to operate smoothly and efficiently. 

Sarah started her education career in 2004 and spent 12 years as an elementary school teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District. In 2014, she transitioned into the world of entrepreneurship and has been operating her own event venue and coworking business in Arts District, DTLA. She has also worked as a Property Manager/Community Curator for Node, an all-inclusive  global co-living community. 

Sarah received a Bachelors of Arts in Social Science from the University of California, Irvine and a Masters in Education from Pepperdine University. She serves as a key member of several charitable organizations and volunteers her knowledge and experience in various disciplines. 

Sarah values community building, thoughtful design, and meaningful connections in her personal life and workplace. When given the opportunity to join McCormick & Associates in bringing safety and accessibility to the built environment, she knew this role aligned with her core values. She feels honored to be a part of a team that partners with Clients to bring building code and ADA compliance to the important design and construction standards.
